Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Professionals who graduate with an MBA will learn business fundamentals such as leadership, communication, critical thinking and analytical skills. An MBA can enhance student’s marketability as a professional and increase the quality and quantity of job opportunities. MBA covers various facets of doing business, i.e. managing various resources namely, men, material, machines, money etc. It gives an opportunity to the students to plan, procure and   manage resources in the interest of the organization. MBA equips a student with the skill to be an entrepreneur, to plan, start a venture, to contribute to the success of a social, or commercial or giant multinationals by being a part of that organization. MBA has proven to be an area of higher education to enable one to pursue one’s own area of interest, besides having decent earnings on one’s investment.

Passed or appearing in current year, for the Bachelor’s Degree examination of minimum three years duration from any University of Odisha or from a recognized University as defined by UGC/AICTE.

Passed or appearing in current year, for the Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy examination of minimum four / five years duration in any discipline from any University of Odisha or from a recognized University as defined by UGC/AICTE.

The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination with OJEE Rank,MAT,CAT,XAT,ATMA,CMAT etc.

There is no upper age limit for admission to MBA course.

After successful completion of the programme, the student will be able to

PO 1- (Problem Solving): Identify real world business problems and demonstrate the ability to solve them.

PO 2- (Critical Thinking): Apply contextual knowledge informed by relevant management practices to give definitive and valid conclusions.

PO 3- (Communication): Communicate in a logical and relevant way in a cross cultural setting   primarily in the business context and generally from a social perspective.

PO 4- (Leadership and Team Building): Exhibit individual and collaborative skills to lead in diverse teams; to achieve organizational goals and to optimize positive outcomes.

PO 5- (Entrepreneurship and Environmental Sustainability): Identify entrepreneurial opportunities and apply managerial abilities in any enterprise while working towards sustainable development and assess the impact of managerial decisions on the environmental aspects

PO 6- (Personal and Professional Ethics): Apply ethical principles in managerial decisions, develop a value based attitude and act with integrity

  • Retail and Corporate Sector- There are many job roles for different MBA specializations in this industry such as store manager, category manager, store technology manager, store marketing manager, etc
  • Banking and Financial Institutions-MBA graduates are hired in capacities such as Financial Analyst, Credit & Risk Manager, Marketing & Sales Manager, etc.
  • Media Sector-Candidates can look out recruitments in print media, broadcast media, internet media, etc. Some of the popular job roles in this industry are Media Executive, Digital Advertising Expert, Channel Head, TV Producer and many others.
  • Hospitality Sector-With an expertise in hospitality sector, students can expect for job roles such as General Manager, Director of Sales, Marketing manager, Management Consultant, etc
